CWR17000-AP001 was crafted from a Rolex Ref. 17000 Oysterquartz, circa 1982. As an “Artist’s Proof” this piece was created as part of the Cloister Collection.

After this watch’s original owner provided this Rolex Ref. 17000 Oysterquartz to Cloister to be reimagined, we completed a full mechanical overhaul of the movement before removing the original dial, filling the date aperture at 3 o’clock, and installing a matching stick marker where the date window and cyclops lens once were. We then applied Cloister’s Mirror Treatment, plating the original brass dial in eighteen-karat white gold with a brushed, matte finish intended to match the brushed, monochromatic styling of the watch’s case and integrated bracelet. We applied minimal accenting text in white, deleting all superfluous text in the process and further streamlining the industrial and bare ethos of the piece. The original caseback was retained and engraved with the Cloister Mark.
