CWR6238-054 was crafted from a Rolex Pre-Daytona Chronograph in stainless steel, circa 1962.

After this watch’s owner provided this Rolex Ref. 6238 “Pre-Daytona” Chronograph to Cloister to be reimagined, we completed a full mechanical overhaul of the movement and selected a slate grey hue for the dial, with layout and text convention inspired by the “Test Dial” Daytonas of the late 1980s. Accenting text was rendered in a mix of white and blue, and the twenty-second indicators on both the three and nine o’clock subdials were replaced with eighteen-second indicators to represent a number important to the watch’s new owner. The watch was delivered on a bespoke Parisian suede strap and a period-correct Rolex tang buckle.
