Steel
CWP3700-084
CWP3700-084 was crafted from a stainless steel Patek Philippe Ref. 3700, circa 1977.
With reverence towards Gerald Genta’s original design, we removed the original dial and fabricated a replacement in brass, deleting the date complication and plating the blank in eighteen karat white gold with a vertical brushed finish. We rendered accenting text in white using the factory Ref. 3700 font and text convention, and sourced a set of original Ref. 3700 applied indices, slicing apart the “double stick” marker at twelve to create a 3 o’clock marker where the date once was. We matched the hue of the lume across the indices and factory handset and removed the “Calatrava Cross” button from the original bracelet’s clasp, replacing it with a “Cloister Mark” button sand-casted in eighteen karat white gold and plated in rhodium to match the hue of the watch’s original Gay Freres steel bracelet.
